A Penny for your thoughts

Monday, November 2nd, 2009

What’s up y’all? We want suggestions as to what you would like to see for next season. We were in the middle of working on a registered user rating/review system when we ran out of time. What about forums? We have some plans for that too… What would you like to see?? Don’t be scared to leave us a comment…

Before you know it.

Here it is………Halloween and on a Saturday night! The weather is right and night will soon be upon us, so no more questions about what you’re doing, no more posts on what you should do, you should have that already planned. ENJOY IT, Halloween on a Saturday wont arrive for another 6 years, 2015.

Happy Halloween from HoustonHaunts.com

P.S.
Every year there is always huge build up for this night and before you know it, it’s over. Now if you want to keep it going, remember the guys at Screamworld feel the same way and will continue to be open for another week. November 1st, 6th, 7th. Be sure to show your support and maybe they’ll keep doing it!

Update: We pulled the info straight from their site, we never saw that they took those dates off. Sorry if you had plans!

The Crypt Kicker Five

Friday, October 30th, 2009

The Monster Mash is an all time great. If anyone says that there is a better Halloween song than this, I will stab you in the jaw (thanx Dane). Anyways, this is a little something me and the guys put together so that your lame Halloween party doesn’t totally suck. You don’t even have to thank us.

Nights at the Discovery Green

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Check out the Discovery Green downtown for the next couple of nights. Tonight at 7:30, Young Frankenstein plays on their outdoor screen (free admission!!). Young Frankenstein is such a great movie, makes me think that there should be a top 5 list of funny Halloween movies (I’m thinking Scream and Shawn of the Dead on that list).

Tomorrow night (Halloween), the Discovery Green is putting on their own Halloween party. From their site:

SCREAM on the Green Discovery Green’s 2nd annual SCREAM on the Green. Dress up the family for a free, fun-filled spooky outdoor Halloween party. • Costume Contests – adult, children, dog (6:30 to 8:30 p.m.) • Café Scarey-oke with KPFT • Living Mausoleum and Statues • Puppet Pizazz • MomHouston button making • Roller Skating Car Hop girls • Fortune tellers, face painters, Mad Science, magicians, caricature artists etc. • Vendors with Halloween and “Green” treats of course! • DJ and Dancing (9 to 11 p.m.) Fabulous prizes courtesy of Capital One Bank Produced by J & D Entertainment Co-sponsored by Bayou City Art Festival Special thanks to Capital One Bank, KPFT and MomHouston

Yea! I love seeing this stuff happening in Houston. They’re just lucky I’m not going to make it out there because I would have won all of their costume prizes with our hand made Boba Fett costume.

Good Night!

scream2009

So we were finally able to go to a haunt this weekend! We rolled up about 30 mins after they opened and lines were already at full capacity. Lucky for us, Screamworld hooked us up with some VIP passes. Five seconds in and i already noticed changes, I must say we were impressed! Alot of extras this year completely made up for the “herding effect” that every good attraction experiences. Many times I felt as if I was walking through a castle or wandering through some evil dungeon of darkness. To get an objective opinion about the house, we took a couple of people from Dallas and their opinion, “We loved it!”. Houston has some fine attractions, from our biggest (Screamworld and Phobia) to some of our smallest (Maze of Maddness and Terror Dome). If you love haunted attractions, we have some great ones and I’m proud to say I run Houstonhaunts.com and not any other. Let us know what you think about some of these attractions!! Thanks Houston!
