Intro

This has been a great year for Houston’s haunted houses! Although we are not going to get a chance to visit all of the attractions in town for this rating review, we have seen a surge of more haunts than we can remember. A total of 9 separate locations in which you can get your scare on! Below are the attractions we had the pleasure of visiting. There were 4 people on our review team visiting all 6 of these attractions in two nights. Thanks to the insane driving skills of Joseph and Cesar we were able to accomplish the mighty feat of conquering Houston’s pavement…all to hit as many attractions as possible in similar situations (because an attraction is not the same on the last day of September as it on the last day of October)(duh). We would like to thank all of these haunted houses who made that impossible weekend, possible!

288 Scare Factory

Apparently, we missed these guys last year…but not this year! These guys have a small tent haunt where volunteers get into the Halloween spirit to help raise money for the Rotary Club.

Castle of Doom and Sanitarium

With 3 separate haunts in one location and a massive overhaul to the parking lot and waiting areas, we happily strolled into the compound to cap our attraction tour.

The Haunted Trails

Always a small time favorite of the HoustonHaunts staff.

Heartstoppers Frighthouse

The new kid on the block. Previously a private haunt that decided to go big time this year by setting up shop near the 1960 under pass real haunt! You’ll spot these guys a mile away with their huge billowing ball of flame lighting up every few seconds.

Phobia 290

The legend of Phobia. Seriously, this is not for little kids…or for paranoid adults who can’t comprehend how they get their actors to put in insane amounts of effort year in and year out.

Screamworld

What happens years after 3 totally separate haunted houses have learned how to work with each other under 1 roof?? Detail and walk-thru time become unparalleled.
