Horrorfestonline.com

Saturday, November 4th, 2006

It’s too bad that they missed October for all of this, but we don’t mind, it simply extends the Halloween celebrations. Horrorfestonline.com details an upcoming horror festival at a theater near you and threatens your life with “8 films to die for.”

When taking a look at the site, I see the excellent header art…HOT and SCARY at the same time. What a nice combo. Once I got past all of that, I see that the movies all look rather excellent as well…particularly The Gravedancers which features some spookey looking monsters.

And that brings me to my next rant, what is up with all the horror movies that feature serial killers as their main mode of scariness? Yea I get it, real life killers are much more real than the supernatural variety and therefore are more likely to scare you. The serial slasher flick is tired. If it has to be a non-supernatural killer, how about the story of a person riding the downward spiral to craziness (The Shining) as opposed to them already being crazy (Halloween). In the end tho, I’ll always dig the supernatural stalking (The Blair Witch Project) over the “real-life” stalking (Saw I, II, III).

Bringing it back to Horrorfest tho, it looks like we will be given a handful of supernatural flicks to go pee in our pants over…oh yea, and there are several theaters in Houston showing the fest.

New site to see

Wednesday, September 13th, 2006

So, sorry for the delay on the update to our site! We realized while we were updating HoustonHaunts we needed info from The Castle of Doom haunted attraction sites. We then proceeded to realize that WE were putting together the latest version of their Halloween website. We couldn’t rightly update our site without updating theirs…so to the drawing board we went! They updated their maze and have re-christened it The Texas Chainsaw Maze. We dig that renaming for obvious reasons (we love horror and we love Texas, duh) so we went with a raw-retro look for their brand spanking new site that features typewriter style fonts and a Texas Chainsaw themed picture with a some dude holding a Texas Chainsaw.

For those of you wondering…this IS a shameful plug. Check out the new www.houstonhauntedhouses.com website…

Lastly, since we have started updating our site again, it is safe to say, “Come back and see us now, ya hear?”
