Joseph

We dig it (like a grave) when we get to add a new attraction to our list. With that said, HoustonHaunts.com welcomes Stage of Fear. This is their 2nd year of being open, but Houston being such a large city we just discovered them this year. They are located in Pasadena so those of you on the South East side of town have an attraction that’s a bit closer. Check them out!! Let us know what’s up…Stages of Fear

Castle of Doom / Sanitarium Update

Castle Of Doom

Castle of Doom checked in saying they “had massive damage to the Chainsaw Maze and The Sanitarium. Have had 40 people working day and night to repair them…We lost 75% of the building on The Sanitarium. The roof was ripped off and the walls collapsed.” With 40 people hacking away at the repairs tho, we should see a functioning haunt by opening weekend.

Castle of Doom / Sanitarium Opening Day – October 3rd

The Castle of Doom and Sanitarium page has now been updated on our site as well.

Phobia

Received an email from the from Phobia today, tho they just got power back on, they weathered the storm well. “Our woods might be closed opening weekend, pending the final tree removal and repairs,” but the other five separate haunts at 290 will be open, including their newest attraction “Dawn of the Machines” which features “robots and cyborgs.”

Phobia’s Opening day – Saturday the 27th (as scheduled)

Phobia 45 also made it thru the storm unscathed but they are aware of the rough situation their clientele has endured.

Screamworld

For those of you whose favorite attraction is Screamworld, we have news. Screamworld wrote us saying, “We only had minor damage to the facade—very lucky.” They are ready to go but have one change, opening day has been moved back one week from the 19th to the 26th. An update coming a little late for those of you that showed up last weekend.

So, Screamworld’s Opening day – Friday the 26th

The parting quote from Screamworld: “You really need to see the changes to scene detail—nothing like this ever before in Houston.” I guess we’ll have to see about that!

Top Ten Most Memorable Horror Movie Villains

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

CesarWhat would a horror movie be without its villain? I’m sure we can all admit that without a villain, a horror movie would be…well, pretty pointless. Villains are those characters that become an (more…)

Hurricane Ike

Friday, September 12th, 2008

MichaelI don’t have much else to do right now except to wait out this storm and make small changes to the site. I thought I’d say something about the impending doom of our latest possible doom. As my brother put it so eloquently, “I have a bad feeling about this,” conjuring up motion pictures of Han Solo. I think my bro might have been onto something…perhaps he does have the force. Anyways.

Hurricanes and their possible landfall locations prove to have an interesting effect on the general public. Some people like to freak out, others like to play it cool to the point of stupidity…me? I like to watch it all unfold, wondering if this is what it would be like if the Apocalypse was upon us (or the dead were about the walk the Earth). I drove by Willowbrook Mall on my way home and the place looks like a ghost town. I took a picture, but it really doesn’t do the scene justice.

I like this picture that we took right before Rita missed us a few years ago. How often to see a Barnes & Noble look like that?

Anyways, you guys and gals be careful out there…hopefully you aren’t in Galveston.

2008, later and later…

Michael We will be working on updating the most important information (the attractions…) on this site shortly. From there we hope to bring you more cool (and hopefully updated information) as soon as it gets to us. We also hope you enjoy the cleaned up site design.

But most importantly, we thought that we would say hi, so, hello.
